This is a baby quilt made by two generations. These blocks were made by my mother in the 1950’s. (Her name is Christine and she lived in Oklahoma.) I had repaired the blocks, and set them into the hot pink polka dot sashing, and had named this quilt top “Oklahoma Polka Dot”. It was sitting in my unfinished quilt stash, when one of our sons and his wife announced that they were pregnant with a girl. My daughter-in-law picked out this quilt top for the new baby, so I longarm quilted it.
When the baby girl was born, imagine my surprise when they named her “Christine” after my mother! It is very special to me that they named their baby Christine, and also that they picked out a quilt which was partially made by my mom.
