Here is a photo of the tiny quilt I made in 2007 called “Bright Nativity with Porcelain Buttons”.
Notice the background night sky. It is made out of my original technique which I call “Haphazard Piecing.”
I had a plexiglass cookbook holder that was just the right size, so I made the quilt kind of like a little pillowcase, and I slid it down over the plexiglass. Now I can display the quilt setting on an endtable.
Please notice the yarn which I couched around the edges. I use monofilament zigzag and a free-motion foot, and hold the yarn close to the pillowcased edge of the quilt, and zig into the fabric and zag into the yarn.
