"Oops! Now What?
Fixing Mistakes Creatively"
A one-hour slide lecture
Some people say there are no such things as mistakes, they are just “design opportunities”. In this lecture Amy will show examples of quilts which were going wrong, and how they were rescued.
Learn how the famous and not-so-famous have rescued quilts which were heading toward disaster. This presentation provides hope for everyone, because mistakes happen to all of us.
Some of the techniques which will be covered:
1. Covering up mistakes with applique
2. Cutting off mistakes and adding new additions
3. Splitting an ugly top and adding strips
4. completely changing the design of the quilt to accomodate the problem
5. Creating a new focal point
6. Combining two designs which were not working, to create one which will work
7. Adding extensive embellishments- “Addition and Distraction”
8. Anything else we can think of!
