ABOUT THE QUILT:

“Hurricane Party”:
Every summer in the South we hear hurricane warnings in which evacuation orders are given. People living in the path of the hurricane are told to leave, but some of them refuse. Instead, they have a “hurricane party” and get drunk with their friends.

The sky blue layer represents their party atmosphere, while the black layer depicts the death and destruction that too often befalls the revelers. My first two-layered quilt.
